The “The Female Divine” concept podium, designed in the garden of the Rodin Museum, took place at the magnificent fashion show of Dior. The creative director of Maria Grazia Chiuri highlighted the concepts of feminism and femininity with her usual attitude. Chiuri refers to the fertility power; Judy, the founder of the American feminist movement, sent a greeting. The whole collection was like, “What if Women Lead the World?” prepared around the theme.
Virginie Viard, who took over the flag after the death of the famous designer Karl Lagerfeld, was behind the Haute Couture collection, which is indispensable for both Paris and French fashion. Viard was inspired by the childhood spent in the orphanage by Coco Chanel in the collection pieces. An orphanage garden atmosphere was given to the fashion show held in Grand Palais. The collection inspired by the nuns and students’ uniforms at the orphanage was accompanied by the romantic breeze of Chanel. The designs are tailored to the magnificent balance of both masculine and femininity and the timeless minimal colors of Chanel in black and white.
Alexandre Vauthier Couture Spring / Summer 2020 included bold decollete in the Haute Couture collection. Deep slits and chest decollete; softened with black elegance. The sophisticated balance created by both masculine and feminine pieces formed the main spirit of the fashion show. The world famous model Bella Hadid was among the fashion models of the fashion show.
Giorgio Armani Privé Haute Couture Spring / Summer Haute Couture collection was dominated by many colors and designs. The fashion house, which romanticized the 1960s hippie atmosphere and added to its collection, used fabrics that touch the cultural history of countries around the world. The jewelery used in the fashion show was also in the foreground.
Iris Van Herpen once again proved the contradiction of their designs in the Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2020 collection. The collection, where the brand preserves its characteristic line, featured intricate laser cut and leather details combined with dark tones. Patterns in the form of sound waves placed on organza tulles almost formed the entire collection.
Braless Bella Hadid
Bella Hadid wore Fashion Week by walking on the Alexandre Vauthier catwalk wearing a striped suit without a bra. Bella, who does not compromise her naturalness with minimal makeup on her face and her collected hair, shook social media this time after the fashion show. 23-year-old supermodel shared the topless mirror photo on his Instagram account after the fashion show. In the photo he added to his story, he closed his breasts with one hand and posed.
Winnie Harlow breathed
The world-famous model Winnie Harlow passed through Paris Fashion Week like a wind with her transparent bodysuit and camouflage coat at Jean Paul Gaultier fashion show. Harlow, who did not leave much to his imagination, challenged Bella Hadid, who walked without a bra at the Alexandre Vauthier fashion show the day before with his ambitious “catwalk”.
Spring / Summer 2020 Couture Trends
Among the trends that will mark the coming Spring / Summer season at Couture Fashion Week, the strong women’s image is emphasized with suits and capes, while collections inspired by the strong women of history such as Coco Chanel and Virginia Woolf revealed that the main theme of this season is women.
Haute Couture luxury has been embellished with bright fabrics such as ruffles, tassels, satin and multi-layered pieces in all collections. Looks like we will come across chiffon and tulle dresses, especially in evening dresses, in the coming Spring / Summer season.
Hats and hair accessories are among the most dramatic trends of the season. One of the strong themes of Paris Fashion Week is Kaia Gerber’s “off the veil” hair accessory at Givenchy fashion show, Armani’s minimalist hats, Christian Dior’s elegant crowns, Alexandre Vauthier’s giant shaggy hair accessory and more.
